The Path I Have Walked, And The Road Ahead
The Path I have walked while at Poudre High School has brought incredible joy and feeling to what was once the numbness of my life. Today I stand as a soon-to-be graduate of Poudre High School, I can almost say I have survived the challenges that were born out of High School. The Challenges I have faced have tested me and brought me to where I stand today, however, the challenges I faced in one class, in particular, have changed me insurmountable. The Poudre Press classes I have taken are the most challenging yet helpful classes I have taken, they allowed me to grow in my writing ability and forced me to evolve into a better writer, and helped to bring my creativity into my writing to make it come alive. The Poudre Press has also brought a community in which I feel welcome and that I can act like myself. The Poudre Press has been an experience that has brought lessons that have allowed me to become a better writer and most importantly a more informed community member. The Poudre Press has allowed me to create some work that I am truly proud of, and there are some writing pieces that show I could have done better and that highlight the improvements I have made ever since my journey in the Poudre Press began.
Artifact Alpha, the birth of creativity
​My path in the Poudre Press is best represented by the very first piece of work I created. The First work I ever created was the Logo For my blog, titled OCR (Operation Copper Rain). My logo brought my creativity to the forefront, the logo was really a breath of fresh air that opened my mind to the creativity that I held and had suppressed for many years. The logo design is one in which I just picked a theme and then just let my mind think about what looks good, and in the end the Logo represents my birth into the possibility of my creativity.
Artifact Bravo, The confudence to write
Artifact bravo reflects my starting point as a writer in the Poudre Press. It was my first ever quick write and I decided to break away from the set promptly and embrace the feeling of writing without boundaries. The feeling of no boundaries has been an important skill that I have developed that has allowed my writing to expand into new forms of writing and forms of writing that allow me to just write without boundaries. Artifact bravo is a quick write from the 17, of October which is a perfect example of my mind escaping into the words and breaking through my pre-set boundaries.
Artifact Charlie, there can be no success, without struggle.
​My time in the Poudre Press has been an incredible experience that has allowed me to be a very successful reporter, however, it was not all success, there inevitably was pain and struggle. The first struggle that tested me was the first article I wrote. After spending several hours I felt like I had made an article that was really good. However, when I turned it in I realized the number of rampant grammatical mistakes and errors I had made. I had spent so much time making sure I reached the five-hundred-word quota that I had forgotten to enjoy writing. However, I overcame the struggle and persevered to open my mind to the creativity of writing and the possibility of just writing. The Article titled "Russian Federation Strained with manpower shortages/New Ukrainian Counter-offensive towards Kharkiv '' is a perfect example of my newfound creativity and will to just write. Artifacts delta and delta below, are yet even better examples of the level of creativity and storytelling that have brought into my writing. Artifact lima is a quick write that I just kept writing to the point where it was no longer a quick write due to the fact that it contained more than 1,200 words. Artifact Lima is a perfect example of my mind just escaping into my writing, as I write out the fear of the unknown and how it affects humanity.

Artifact Foxtrot, random capitalization
(what is wrong with me)
​Over my time In the Poudre Press, the most common error I have come to find in my writing has been the random capitalization of words for no apparent reason. I have struggled with this issue even before I joined the Poudre Press. While I may have come into Poudre Press with the issue, I have come out of the Poudre press confidently saying I no longer randomly capitalize words. I have been able to overcome this issue because of the sheer amount of writing I have done as a part of the Poudre Press. Mr. Morly has spent so much time let me just write that I have been able to learn over time and break the bad habit. The sheer amount of effort I have dedicated to just writing has made the difference. The Poudre At Its Finest article is a perfect example of this dedication to writing and proof that with effort I have overcome an issue that has plagued my writing for many years.
Artifact Golf, My Best Work
Many Of the works of writing I have completed in the Poudre Press have brought me immense amounts of pride. However, there is one work of writing that has reflected my very best, and given me an insight into what I am capable of as a writer. An exposes submission that I published on October 11, titled "Colorado Is threatened by Rising Drug Use, Amidst Calls From More Mental health resources." was from my point of view my best work, I had spent an incredible amount of time making the article easy to read, and if the reader wanted in-depth information I provided it and made it simple to extrapolate the information from the writing. The Exposes was my best work because it was a culmination of all that I had learned over my time in the Poudre Press. The Exposes brought all the skills that I had learned and grown to make my own, I brought the skills of introducing quotes and promoting accurately and effectively into my work. The exposes had a literary flow that worked extremely well and allowed the reader to be much better informed, and the reader was able to retain a great deal of information from the reading. The exposes also highlighted my ability to cite sources accurately to give credit to the correct sources. Artifact Golf revealed my confidence by adding tags that display the information to the reader and help readers to find out what the article may contain.
